A couple of people have reported scams, mainly from Holland, whereby the spurious purchaser offers a massive price for parts, most of which is to be paid back to the person who collects the parts. Then you find that their payment bounces and you are left with a massive overdraft!

What is it this page all about?

This is the place to advertise GTI-R parts that you want to sell, or that you want to buy in order to keep your GTI-R running or to upgrade.

That means ............................ just GTI-R stuff.

Where a part is not relevant to the GTI-R or is destined for another make/model I reserve the right to say ..."No, sorry!"

NOTE: if you change your email address please tell me!

If you don't, your advertisement will be removed without warning. Why?

Because your ad won't work anymore and I'll have no way of checking that it's still required!

If YOU find an item here that is no longer available/wanted or the email address no longer works, please tell me and I'll investigate.

Free advice - I STRONGLY suggest the buyer asks the seller for a CLEAR picture of the item BEFORE paying any money! This should ensure that the item being sold is properly described.

You have been warned!

In the past I've carried advertisements with no email address - just a phone number. I've also had many requests from email addresses which no longer exist ... for various reasons. So - if you do not have a valid email address I will not carry your advertisement*. I've removed advertisements with no email addresses and I will not reply to the original email request for an advertisement ... because I can't! Also -

POLICY CHANGE - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

A new column has been added for all adverts as of 14/12/2005 ... called "Expiry Date".

All existing adverts have been set to expire ONE MONTH ahead.

Your advert(s)s will be removed WITHOUT WARNING at the expiry date.

It's up to YOU to let me know if the advert is still required. If you don't tell me to keep the advert, your advert will be removed and YOUR ITEM WON'T SELL.

New/renewed adverts will automatically have a 6-month lifetime from the date that the ad is amended/added.

If your advert is no longer required, let me know straight away, as ever.

*Why?

a) because it avoids unnecessary time & expense that may be incurred by potential buyers/sellers

b) I don't have a crystal ball! So if I can't check that an advertisement is still required it would otherwise appear on this page forever!

Some basic information on how this page works ...

To place an item "For sale" or "Wanted" (or both!), just;-

Tell me first ...

which country the part(s) are in,
a brief description of the part(s),
the currency & price you have in mind (otherwise, it'll be shown in as "Haggle!") and ...
your name

Then ...

I'll send you an email to confirm that your ad has been placed ...
please CHECK your ad - the description, price (if applicable) and MOST importantly that your "Contact" info is correct (mistakes can happen!)

There's no need to say it's for/from a GTI-R. If I'm unclear I will always check this before the ad is placed. Where a part is generic (will fit the GTI-R but not specific to the GTI-R - like a turbo-timer etc) I will err on the side of common knowledge - always remember I reserve the right to say ..."No, sorry!"

Buying - how to get in touch with the seller

But ALWAYS quote the Ref on the left of any advert ... especially for me!

That means that YOU quote the Ref ...

to the buyer or to the seller

and when the deal is done, to me, please, so that I can update this page

or tell me about any change that you want to make to your advertisement

As a free service, this page is updated only on a periodic basis (i.e., not instantly) and usually weekly, maybe more frequently. maybe less - depends on how busy I am and the apparent urgency of your ad.

Exceptionally, "Wanted" ads will be placed as soon as practical but only if you request an urgent update (the magic code is VOR - Vehicle Off Road) - I reserve the right to make my own judgment on this. So, if you ask for a VOR Wanted ad for a tailpipe trim it's gonna stay in the regular "To Be Done" queue!
