Hey! Send me your pics/vids and I'll consider them for this page ... email me at III-ray.w@virgin.net-III

Into 2003 ...

The Group B club day at Castle Coombe (3rd year we've attended)

Temporary insert - 10 of the Best 2003 ... details to follow!?!

<<<<< Aaaargh ... NO PICS! >>>>>

(HELP! Send me your pics/vids ... must be some as I counted 36 'R's in the public car park and there were 6 'R's entered !)

JAE ... 1st time this has been the Annual GTIROC club day after four years at Trax.

(It rained, on the Saturday - lucky for me I went on the Sunday ... !)

Bracknell - it rained, but nothing serious!

Japfest on a damp May day (vids are there now - and work!)

The Wesh Boyo's meet #2 (four years on from meet #1!) ...

Castle Coombe, April showers?

Santa Pod again ... this time the track was dry enough and with glue being added some very good times were possible.

From the look of things, we're getting a lot more sociable in the UK, thanks to the GTIR forum. There are already 4 "southern" meets planned for April 2003 alone! Here are some pics of the Pease Pottage mini meet in March 2003.

Trax '99 - the biggest gathering of GTI-R's outside Japan

Trax '99 - 23 up!

The GTIROC meet at Trax '99 was organised by Caleb Zuninio (we're not worthy, we're not worthy!)

Also at Trax '99 was No 24, a custom painted green example with Godspeed brakes

Trax '99 - number 24 showed a good all round finish

Trax '99 - a close-up of those Godspeed brakes (cast iron calipers, painted gold)

Trax '99 - number 25 was a DP motorsport example with a front mount. Excellent 0-60mph time only beaten by a 400bhp Skyline that did 60 in 1st gear!

Carolyn - preparing to rearrange some bodywork in an enduro race in Australia

Carolyn's bodywork - ouch! The team won the race, though. And at least hubby knows a good panel beater ... if you've seen what the car used to look like when it was bought from Japan. (In Files on the "gti-r" list at www.yahoogroups.com)

The Welsh Boyo's meet 1999 ...

... was held in Builth Wells town centre ...

... then we went in convoy down to ...

... the Lake ...

... for some ...

... creative parking.

Mike Whelan's car at Bruntingthorpe 2000 for a Max Power magazine photo call on a wet, cold, very cold day.

This is James Jarvis' car. Four GTI-R's turned up to watch the shoot which also featured an Escort  Cossie and a Scooby. Great fun, though, around a disused airfield:- JJ maxed out at over 160mph.

Tramore, Co Waterford 2000 ...

... RAIN, RAIN, RAIN. Now you know why it's called Co WATERford ...

... still and all, at least ...

... Irish eyes were smiling ...

... with 5 GTI-R's ...

... a GTI and a 1.6SR ...

... thanks to Eddie McGrath for these Irish pics. Another meet will be organised for June/July 2000 when at least the weather should improve.

VFM May 2000 - Caleb arrives fully (body) kitted

VFM May 2000 - Caleb's new stickers

VFM May 2000 - Caleb shows even more stickers

VFM day - and Adrian doesn't do things by halves - he's got a new car to show & test

VFM day - nice new wheels!

VFM day - the back looks nice, too!

VFM day - by mid-afternoon the spectators have arrived. Here are three ...

VFM Day - here's another ...

VFM Day - plus another half-dozen ...

VFM day - even the tuners are here (this one was for sale) ...<%}%>

VFM day - yet more pics of attendees, Paul's car is in the foreground, Caleb is behind and Simon's is at the back. By this time we'd counted 16 GTI-R's! Just for a dyno session!!!

VFM day - hmmm this one looks pretty standard from the outside. He's even got snow tyres on it.

... until you start looking under the skin. What's this? Is Phil (Cavanagh) a welder, then? Or is a delivery of laughing gas to the local dentist?

So that's where the braided hose goes. It's all a load of solenoids to me.

more solenoids - but there's a very good reason for them ...

Here's a clue ... wheelspin on the dyno run! Two volunteers required to keep the tyres connected to the rollers, please.

Success! Two very large bodies (that's Phil, the owner, on the left) and a 5th gear run give ... over 300BHP

The Revs track day - May 2000 >>> By 8:30am many people had already arrived at the 3 Sisters Track. There are about twenty cars on the left ... and another dozen hiding behind the van on the right

The Revs track day - May 2000 >>> After the drivers' briefing and track familiarisation it's time to go ...

The Revs track day - May 2000 >>> up to 10 cars at a time set out to see what it felt like to drive hard around the Three Sister kart track

The Revs track day - May 2000 >>> All day, people enjoyed the fantastic grip and smooth surface

The Revs track day - May 2000 >>> At around lunchtime everyone gathered for a group shot ... it was the first attempt at counting up how many cars had arrived - it started at 65. Then another 6 arrived. Then there were the four still in the car park. Well over SEVENTY!!!!!!!!!

The Revs track day - May 2000 >>> "Get the black cars to fill the hill" - so we did! It took the guys from revs an hour to set up the massive group shot.

The Revs track day - May 2000 >>> The rare factory green example - minter!

The Revs track day - May 2000 >>> How rare? I'm told only 20 were ever made - and they were only done to mark a special occasion in Japan.
